Bahrain Game Developers have been pretty busy lately!

It has been some exciting few weeks for us. We managed to get ourselves a booth in the Animania event. It happened on the end of March this year in Bahrain at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC). The event was amazing we managed to showcase two demo that we had been working on.

Hamad Alhassan showed his demo zBioBlow which is a breathtaking 3D shooter game, where you have the ability to blow up zombies! I mean how cool is to blow zombies, right? Another demo was presented by me, where I showed a few scenes from Deadgear. The 2D RPG Metroid game that me and Alex are working on. I was very happy to see all the attention that the booth received. It was so relieving to see that many gamers were into the game development thing. People were interested to see and hear more about the game development scene in Bahrain. Also, press involved us as well, covering the stuff that we presented. Moreover, the two demos we brought showed the capabilities that Bahrain can bring to the table, it was a good exposure.

Rashed – The Arab Gamer – was so kind to take the time to get photos of our booth, Make sure you visit his article here to get a look at the rest of the photos, and his coverage of the whole event.
IGN Middle East got to interview me and Hamad at the event too (See the YouTube video below):

However, on a different page, Bahrain Game Developers have managed to participate in GameTako’s Zanga game jam competition. Where you should develop a game in four days, this has been a first timer for Bahrain as we joined six different countries participating in the contest. We’re happy competing with different countries and people.

Overall, I’m very happy that we managed to pull both events, even though they were in the same time. All in all, it was a great experience for Bahrain Game Developers, to participate on both events.
