Epic Games have just released their Unreal Development Kit (UDK) for free to indie developers who don’t intend to make commercial games. The engine has a lot a cool features that would allow you to make a game with professional standards, this is some good news for people who really wanna give these “professional” tools a shot in order to make it to the game industry.
The engine is a really one piece of art, it focuses in the content of the game and does the technical part for you, so you don’t need to be a C++ guru in order to use it, however the framework allows you to script your games through the use of the “Unreal Script”.
